Subaltern Voices, Indigenous Knowledge & Liberatory Pedagogy
One of the main goals of the Center for Global & Multicentric Education is to promote and facilitate dialogues between culturally, religiously, and racially diverse populations in B.C., Canada, and across the world. To achieve this goal, we need your help, cooperation, and involvement in this important work. Many of us at Kwantlen already practice some version of multicentric and global education in various faculties and departments. We want to learn from you. We invite and encourage efforts to envision newer and more innovative ways of preparing the diverse population of students at post-secondary institutions and at Kwantlen for their democratic participation in an ever-changing world, by viewing students as active global citizens/learners and by emphasizing dialogue, teamwork, and student-centred learning.
We would like to invite you to share your knowledge and approaches to how you practice critical pedagogy by participating in and/or developing workshops on multicentric approaches to teaching/learning. Please submit your proposal online at: http://cms.kwantlen.ca/Page11050.aspx, or email your submission for workshop, curriculum development, and program implementation to: Dr. Amir Mirfakhraie (amir.mirfakhraie@kwantlen.ca) or, Dr. Wendy Royal (wendy.royal@kwantlen.ca).
