Additional Library Resources

The following links are restricted to Kwantlen students, faculty and staff and users of the library.

    The Philosopher’s Index

The Philosopher's Index monitors over 550 journals from more than 40 countries and is updated quarterly. Extensive indexing includes personal and proper names along with subject terms; there is also the capability to search for the authors of book reviews.

     Academic Search Premier

The Academic Search Premier database indexes over 8100 journals, with full text for nearly 4700 scholarly publications, including more than 3600 peer-reviewed titles. Contains titles in nearly every area of academic study including: social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more.

     Humanities Index

The Humanities Index covers art, communications, dance, film, gender studies, history, journalism, linguistics, literature, music, performing arts, and philosophy.

     Philosophical Blogs

Blogs display the opinions of individuals or collections of individuals. They are often of uneven quality. Philosophical blogs are of particular interest as they show thoughtful people reasoning together about various subjects. The following two links are a gateway into the philosophical blog world. They are unusual in that they are searchable by topic, philosopher, student, and university.

EpistemeLinks.  A sound resource for philosophy generally. Here we link to their searchable list of philosophical weblogs.

In addition to his authoritative online bibliography of works in philosophy of mind, consciousness and artificial intelligence, David Chalmers offers a searchable list of philosophical weblogs.
